Just 3 weeks away …

The presidential election may be many months away, but today we’re just three weeks away from the first voting — the Iowa Caucus.

Polls are showing our candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders, just 3 points behind Clinton in Iowa — and ahead of her in New Hampshire.  We are on course to win some major early victories which, we hope, will take Bernie all the way to the White House.

But we need your help and involvement, even here in the U.K., to win.

The next public event you should attend is the Debate Watch organized by Democrats Abroad UK (DAUK) on January 19th.  We’ll be watching a recording of the debate between the Democratic Candidates which will take place next Sunday night.

Originally, DAUK planned on charging everyone to attend, and we decided to hold our own event which would be free for students.  Fortunately, DAUK changed its mind and the event is free for students and concessions.  We strongly encourage student supporters of Bernie Sanders to come, wearing your Bernie stickers and pins, and help us distribute flyers and meet potential supporters at the event.  Here are the details:

Date and time: January 19, 2016, 7:00 p.m.
Place: Sports Bar & Grill (Marylebone), Melcombe Place, London NW1 6JJ (nearest tube station: Marylebone)
Tickets: £10 general; free for students/concessions (you must RSVP as space is limited):
If you’re claiming a free ticket, you must bring your student ID with you to the event.

As some of you will have learned, the Sanders campaign has put out a call for volunteers to come to New Hampshire.  If you’re interested in going, email jamesjameson@berniesanders.com

Last week, we announced that we’d be holding a regular weekly surgery every Tuesday.  Unfortunately we can’t start that this week, but we’ll let you know once we get that going.
